PAPYROS\u00ae Kiln Shelf Paper is a ceramic-based paper specially formulated for glass fusing. When placed between the <\/span>kiln shelf and the underside of a glass project, PAPYROS prevents the glass from sticking to the shelf during firing. <\/span>Because of its sturdy composition, PAPYROS provides excellent glass\/kiln shelf separation on the first use, and <\/span>frequently even in subsequent firings.<\/span><\/p>

Getting the Most from PAPYROS<\/span><\/strong>
PAPYROS\u00ae is quite durable, and tends to retain its paper-like qualities during firing, rather than decomposing into <\/span>loose dust. The degree to which PAPYROS retains its integrity can be affected by the characteristics of the glass <\/span>being used (Transparent vs. Opal), as well as the intensity of the firing schedule.<\/span><\/p>

With transparent glasses against the paper, your finished project can often lift cleanly away from the papered shelf, <\/span>leaving the paper weakened, but intact. By carefully lifting the glass project off of the PAPYROS lined shelf, you may <\/span>find that you can achieve more than one firing from a piece of PAPYROS.<\/span><\/p>
